Every year there is a conference Jenny has to go work in Aspen — torture right? So this year Schmav got to make the trip too! If you’ve never been to Aspen, it’s one of the most dog friendly towns you’ll ever see. Almost every hotel accepts dogs (even the really nice ones) and the pooches are allowed everywhere; restaurants, art galleries, high end fashion stores, you name it! And the fancy shmancy poodle fit right in!
Jenny and Schmav stayed at the Molly Gibson Lodge, which was perfect because there was a park right across the street where he could burn off some steam. Dogs are allowed, but must be crated when you aren’t in the room (which we would do anyway.) It was also very close to all the shops and galleries, so we made good use of the proximity during Jenny’s breaks.
The cutest part was watching the mailman (are you supposed to say postal carrier these days?) walk from store-to-store with his Golden Retriever. Some of the shops had a dog friendly policy and the Golden (probably about 14 years old by the way) would go right in. Then others must have had a no dog policy as the dog would curl up outside the store instead of following his owner inside. The three days that we were up there, we ran into the duo every day doing their routine, too cute!
While Jenny & Schmav were busy living the life of luxury, Marc was picking up our new foster girl, Renata! It definitely provided some incentive to get down the mountain, but Aspen is still very hard to leave. On the way home, we stopped and snapped some pictures, see if you can find Schmav in the one at Independence Pass 🙂
