Two weeks is a major milestone with puppies because at this milestone, the risk of losing one goes way down. Happy to say these little spiderlings are really thriving. This week I spent a lot of time just in awe of how cute they are while they are sleeping. Their bodies do this cute little thing where they pop around while they dream. Freaking adorable.
They are also veracious eaters! They’ve all gained tons of weight and all 4 doubled their birth weight BEFORE the Day 10 milestone. Very proud of the job Cheeky is doing growing fat, rolly puppies. Our other big milestone this week was having everyone’s eyes open!
I continued the ENS and EIS procedures we mentioned last week, including introducing the puppies to David’s scent. David will be getting one of the boy puppies and they both (plus the girls!) had a positive interaction with his socks.
I was also able to get the litter paperwork completed with the AKC and Marc came up today and removed Cheeky’s stitches. Can’t say enough about the beautiful job Dr. Hess did with Cheeky’s surgery; she healed up beautifully and there we’re no complications. Marc is off to Mexico for the week, so he left Halo with us, and Cheeky seemed pretty excited to have her mother’s help.
Getting to see Cheeks as a Mom and Halo as a Nana is a pretty magical experience. Excited to have both my girls for a whole week!
