The last two days have been a blur. All weekend the the VCA was holding a fundraiser with an All Breed agility trial. We obviously missed it on Saturday because we were doing the Specialty show, but we did make it for yesterday. Karma picked up a Q in Standard and 21 MACH points. We are not use to trialing outdoors in the baking heat, so this was a great fast run for us. After the trial, we headed back to the hotel to get things ready for the kick-off including ironing the ribbons for the National Agility trial. Jenny is a total rosette princess and has been in charge of the National Specialty and Companion Events ribbons for 3 years now, so they must look perfect! We also got all the Iron Dog bags together and the 2017 Agility T-shirts. The shirts are a fundraiser Jenny has also been doing for 3 years and it pays for the Q ribbons at the following year’s National! This year they are navy and say, “California Weaving” on the back. They were a hit!
Today was the National Agility trial and Karma picked up a Q in Standard with 14 MACH points. A slight bobble in Jumpers still leaves us in good position for Iron Dog though! After Karma was done running, Tad & Stephen Ray swept her off to do some running at the beach with all the dogs in her family. That’s the photo above. Jenny stayed back to help with the lower level classes and the awards ceremony. Finally, this is the group picture we set up with all the agility Vs and our judge Debby (below.) Debby actually donated her judges fees to the VCA Welfare Foundation too. So super cool.
After agility we headed back to the hotel and went to the Welcome Party! It was fun, food and drink pairings and catching up with friends. Turning out to be a fun week so far! Tomorrow we tackle obedience and rally and Karma has the potential to finish 2 titles — fingers crossed!
