Today was the day of the Friends of Irish Setter Fun Match. Every year, our club, The Mile High Sporting Dog Fanciers, holds an auction in conjunction with the match as a fundraiser. Today’s was especially exciting because it’s the first event since the club was licensed! Jenny helped do the application to the AKC, so getting approved is super exciting for us.
Since Jenny was going up with some basket donations and to help ring steward, we called Steffie to see if she wanted to go. Steffie thought brushing the cobwebs off Karm was a great idea, so Jenny picked up Steffie bright and early for a day in Brighton.
Jenny ended up stewarding for the Non-Sporting Group which was fun. Cute Frenchies, a standard Poodle puppy, and 7 fluffy Keeshound pups amongst others. After wrapping up in the Non-Sporting ring, Jenny headed back to check on the Sporting Group…barely on Goldens (the group moves alphabetically so imagine how much longer it was going to take!) Back to hustling for the MHSDF auction. After the auction was over, Karma and Steffie finally got to head into the ring. A best of breed for Karma and then she and Steffie headed back into the ring for the Adult Sporting Group…and they were pulled out for a GROUP 3! It was a large group entry of 12, so it was super cool to see the dynamic duo get noticed 🙂 Thanks to judge Sid Marx!
After group, we went to the MHSDF meeting where we talked about plans for our first specialty show this September! It’s getting exciting 🙂
