A few weeks ago, we found out there was going to be a fun match this weekend. Surprisingly, we had no plans for today, so we decided to take Halo to her first conformation match. We’ve been working on stacking at home, but we haven’t really done any work on lead, so we thought it might make for an entertaining day 🙂
We showed up and were pleasantly surprised to see a few Vizsla friends. Ginger was there to show Chaz, who belongs to Steve & Mary, and Yeti who belongs to Krista and Alan. It was funny to have all the agility people take over conformation!
Halo and Marc were so adorable. She was so bouncy and wiggly, it was cute to see him work it out with her in the ring. When she decided she wanted to move…she MOVED. She has this really floaty, showy stride that is really fun to watch. Plus, she is just so stinkin’ cute! The judge, Jay Acker, kept cracking a smile as he watched her move and stack, so we had a good feeling. And sure enough — Halo went Best of Breed! And then she went back in for the puppy group and picked up Group 2!
After the exciting show debut, we headed off to grab brunch with our friends. It was a bit of a good luck send off — Ginger is showing Yeti next weekend at Eukanuba, and Steve and Glacier are competing in the (agility) Invitational! It was fun to catch up with everyone and — not gonna lie — it’s pretty fun to have a show puppy again 🙂
Below are some of our favorite pictures of Halo’s debut!
