This was an exciting weekend for us. Back in February, Grandma Carol got her very first show dog, Mungo. And this was the weekend he would be coming up for his show debut. Since Mungo and Grandma were entered, we figured we better enter Karmie-Karm too.
Mungo did great! He has the cutest little walk 🙂 They got 4th place in their class yesterday and then moved up to 2nd today! This was a large Border Terrier entry worth a 5 point major, so it was awesome to see Mungo in the ribbons both days. And Carol was super cute! She got so excited about 2nd place that she even teared up — a good reminder of how much joy can be found at the dog show!
Karma had a good weekend too. She and her new handler Trent went Reserve yesterday, and then Winners Bitch today for another point! Karma is chipping away at those 15 points! Now if we could just build a major, maybe we’d have a shot at getting that champion title wrapped up 🙂
We also had a very busy weekend with friends — a retirement happy hour, a pilates studio opening, dinner at Elways, and some Sunday birdwork. Thanks to all who included us in your plans. Crazy to think that all the people (minus the retirement party) we spent time with this weekend are friendships we forged through our dogs. Love this Colorado bird dog community!
