What a fun little weekend. Matrix Dog hosted another ACT Test, that Agility Course Test, and Jenny was able to get Cheeky in for some fun. These ACT tests are great! It’s about half the obstacles of a regular agility trial. In the first level, there is no teeter or dog walk or weaves. It’s a great introduction and lets you practice with a judge, a leash runner, the timer sounds and a new location. Sometimes a new environment totally changes everything, so it’s a good way to test your skills!
And while she only needed one more leg, Cheeky passed in both runs today! This gives her the ACT 1 title and makes it her first, of hopefully many, agility titles! She is so fun to train and keeps us laughing. If the test this weekend taught us anything, it’s that she loves people — she spent a good 15 seconds trying to get the leash runner to pay attention to her!
The rest of the weekend we spent in Vail and managed to get in 3 miles of snowshoeing. We found a new trail, and kept saying to each other that we can’t believe it took us that long to find that trail. We tend to be creatures of habit and stick to our favorite loop, but this new trail will be added into the rotation for sure! With happy, well exercised Vizslas, we are heading into the week — hope your week is off to a great start too!
