Tokaji, Karma, and Chance — Karma was thrilled to discover California also has squirrels 🙂
The weekend after the Pueblo show Jenny and Karma headed out to sunny California to visit with Jamie and her girls Tokaji and Chance. Jamie bred Karma’s Daddy, Tok (Tokaji’s littermate brother) and Chance is Tokaji’s daughter…so Karma and Chancey Pants are cousins! Chance’s littermate is Gunner as in Heather and Gunner, who we always talk about 🙂 Still with us?
California was amazing! We had so much fun— Jamie is an amazing hostess. Part of the reason we went out was to run in the last trial at Brookside. Brookside is this legendary agility location that has a bunch of ties to us. For starters, it was in Jamie’s family, so Heather (who went to school with Jamie) has shared tons of fun stories from Jamie & Heather’s sorority and equestrian days. It has become THE agility location…outdoors, well shaded, and where Grandma Geli (Tokaji and Tok’s mom) trailed too. It sounded like agility Disneyland, so we had to be a part of this epic last trial.
And epic this weekend was! After Jenny and Karms landed on Friday, we stopped at In-N-Out burger for a necessary first meal in California. It was amazing as always. Then after taking all the girls on a run, it was off to Disneyland with Jamie, Chuck, and Cayla. And while we hit all the favorites — Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, this was no ordinary trip — Jamie treated us to Club 33! If you don’t know about Club 33, it is the secret members only club in the park…you should google it, you can be a Disney geek for hours 🙂 Club 33 was everything Jenny ever dreamed of, including front row seats to fireworks!
Saturday and Sunday were the main event — and while Karma didn’t walk away with any green ribbons, everyone was super nice and supportive — kinda felt like we were trialing at home with all our friends.
Saturday was an awesome day for Karma’s cousin Pico, who finished her MACH2! Pico is owned by our new friend Dixie who also owns Karma’s half-brother Theis (picture of Karma and her half-bro below!)  Then there was a celebration pot luck, but this was no average pot luck. It featured tri-tip, fried chicken, all types of salads, sides, appetizers, and a whole table of desserts! We topped it up with a birthday cake for Jamie and some bubbles. Seriously, these California kids know how to throw an agility trial. After the trial we gussied up and had some amazing martinis fireside before heading to dinner.
Sunday was another amazing day. Bijou (who is the cutest French Bulldog in the universe) and Carol (who owned Karma’s great-grandma, Necka) finished their NA title! And to put the cherry on top, we witnessed Chancey Pants earning her MACH title! So cool — last trial at Brookside and CP pulled it out, AND we were in town to see it!! Then we booked it to the airport (after eating Pico’s MACH cake and having a few more bubbles.)
We made our flight by the skin of our teeth and Jenny just happened to sit next to Princess Jasmine (seriously) on our way home. She was SO nice and it rounded out our Disney weekend perfectly!
Our thanks to Jamie for hosting our visit…Jenny is already trying to figure out how to make it back!
