A couple weeks ago we realized we are getting dangerously close to the AKC National Agility trial, and we haven’t been able to do much agility here in Colorado. After a quick chat with our friend Jamie, we decided to head down to Arizona this weekend to run on mats. Next weekend we are headed to The Westminster Kennel Club trial which is also on mats. This would give us some great practice.
This weekend we got in some GREAT practice…and funny enough, the judge was our friend Carol Evans, from here in Colorado! The courses were great and Karma got every single contact! Woo-hoo! Jamie’s girls Tokaji (Karma’s Aunt) and Chance (Karma’s 1st cousin) were entered in agility and Sochi (from Halo’s breeder, Kathy) was entered in conformation. There was actually a Vizsla Specialty this weekend. So we split up Jenny running all the girls in agility, and Jamie & Chuck headed over to conformation.
Luckily, Jenny was able to wrap up agility just in time to see Sochi & Jamie show. And have a pretty amazing cupcake courtesy of the Rio Salado Vizsla Club! Unfortunately, Sochi was not the judges cup of tea. We decided celebrating was still in order, so we headed over to Donovan’s Steak & Chop House. AND we were joined by Halo’s handler, Sarah! We ran into her at the show — so fun! If you are ever in the Phoenix area, you have to try out Donovan’s — probably one of the 5 best filets of our lives!
Sunday we ran in both events again, and then it was straight to the airport to catch an early afternoon flight back to Denver. Luckily, we will get to see Jamie and Chuck again on Thursday, but this time in New York City!!
