Yesterday, Jenny worked a conference, but today was free so we entered an agility trial up in Longmont to let Karma get some dirt time. Agility was great, Karma walked with a Q in Jumpers and just a dog walk away from a QQ. After our runs, we headed out on a post agility walk with our agility besties Emily and Layla.
The Boulder County Fairgrounds have some great walking paths behind the facility that wind around water and some reflection gardens. It’s really a lovely place to cool down after an agility run.
We were about 5 minutes into our walk when this pit bull puppy comes running full speed up to Karma and Layla. Immediately, Emily and Jenny both put themselves between the approaching dog and our girls. Once he got closer, we could tell he was just a goofy puppy and didn’t mean to look menacing. Jenny pulled off Karma’s lead and Emily called Karma over to her. Karma’s lead went on the goofball, and we trekked back to the Humane Society which happens to be just South of where we were.
We were lucky that we were so close to the Humane Society and that we were able to get him off the streets and into better hands. We are hoping “Goofy” finds his people in the next 5 days. If not, we are certain he will have no problems finding a new great family. He is a sweet dog, and Jenny was even able to teach him to sit while we were waiting to process his intake.
In other news, Layla and Karma got to tour the shelter while we were dropping off Goofy. They promise to do their dogwalks next time!
