Time is totally just clicking by! The Spiderlings are thriving and are now ready for visitors. We have a couple more days of ENS and EIS and it’s pretty clear these pups are going to be super sniffers just like their Mom and Aunt Maggie. They have really keyed in to sniffing out the scents each day. Can’t wait to see how this translates to scent work careers if any of their owners try it out.
This last week was especially exciting as Nana Halo was here all week! Marc went to Mexico and it worked out timing wise that Cheeky was ok letting Halo take an active roll. Halo ADORES puppies and she is super OCD about cleanliness, so the puppies were very attended to this week! Cheeky would see Halo cleaning puppies and feel the need to show her that she could do just as good of a job. Kinda funny…Cheeky might be ready for Halo to go back to Marc tomorrow just so she doesn’t feel like her Mom is judging her parenting skills! But really, Cheeky seemed pretty content to have her Mom here; she spent most of her free time cuddled up with Halo, which was extra adorable.
The puppies also got the NICEST care package from their other Grandma, Frankie! Frankie is Goose’s Mom and breeders Karen Iacobellis and Jenna Zablow were so thoughtful to send us a whole box of toys for the puppies! Even some stuff less animals that I’m saving for their go home bags. It was so touching and the puppies started showing interest in toys this week, so the timing couldn’t be more perfect!
Today, we started introducing the puppies to food too as I begin the weaning protocols from my mentor, Kathy Rust (Kizmar Vizslas.) They LOVED the food. Couldn’t get enough of it and did a pretty good job of not just finger painting in it!
So now, let the visitations begin! If you want to come visit puppies, just give me a shout…they need tons of it!
