That’s a wrap on CKC weekend!! I love this show; mostly because it’s 10 minutes from my house and I get to sleep in, ha! But really, it always feels like back to school; last local show is November and then all your friends come back out in February! It was great to see everyone and we laid down some solid planning for Estes Park too!
And the dogs had a pretty great weekend. Cheeky & Louie were entered in conformation for two days and Karma was entered in agility one day.
First up in the show ring, Jenny showed Louie in the Bred-By class. Not only did he win the class, but he went Reserve to the major, losing to his half-brother Mac (also out of Kai.) He and Jenny also defeated the Bred-By bitch for Best Bred By Exhibitor Vizsla! While we didn’t any love in the Bred-By group, it was so fun to show this sweet boy! He also picked up 1st in his Bred-By class on Sunday, but this time he was shown by Marc! With his long stride, Marc did an excellent job showing our sweet boy!
Karma spent a day in the dirt and picked up 3rd place in a huge 16” preferred STD class. We ended up skipping our last run of the day because our friends Dale & Katherine BOTH finished their MACH titles on the same day! Crazy, crazy cool! We celebrated with MACHaritas and red velvet cake — made for a fun Saturday night! Karma also took a spin in the conformation ring at the RMVC supported entry and got tons of applause as the Best Veteran ❤️
And our special, spunky Cheeky-Cheeks took ribbons both days she showed! A Best of Opposite to her half brother, Gus & a Select Bitch! Her Select Bitch win was at the RMVC Supported entry and she got a super cool snuffle mat! She thinks it’s pretty fab. Both wins were over specials and both were GCH majors; a great special debut for our sassy pants! The wins this weekend have her well on her way to Grand Champion; she just needs one more major and 17 more points. And the fun fact of the day? Cheeky got her first major at this show last year on her 6 month birthday! Hopefully, the CKC show will always be a lucky one for her 🙂
Congratulations to all our friends on your successes this weekend too, until next year!
